1. How do I remove water-based nail polish?
Suncoat Water-based nail polish has been formulated to adhere well to the nail bed. If left on nails for an extended time, it may require a little more effort to remove. For easy removal, remove the polish weekly.
Remove WITH Suncoat natural nail polish remover:
Suncoat natural nail polish remover is recommended although solvent based remover will take off the polish. Dab the remover onto nails using a Q-tip / or a cotton ball, and allow at least 2 minutes for the remover to soften the polish. Then rub the nails until the polish is fully removed. Repeat when necessary.
Rinse hands with water to remove residue.
Remove WITHOUT Suncoat natural nail polish remover:
Soak nails in hot water for couple of minutes, then gently scrap off the polish using a fingernail.

2. What if the polish becomes too thick and streaky?
Simply add water ONE DROP AT A TIME to the polish and shake well before use.
Add one drop of water each time. Adding too much water to the polish may result in polish separation.
3. Is water-based nail polish 100% natural?
Unfortunately, No. But it is the most natural nail polish available today.
Generally speaking, water-based nail polish contains about 60-70% natural ingredient, namely water. The remaining 30-40% of nail polish is mainly film-formers, typically acrylic copolymer, styrene-acrylic copolymer and polyurethane, or combinations of these. These film formers are unfortunately synthetic, not natural. They are the plastics that coat the nails after the polish dries. They form film only and should not harm the nails.
The rest of the ingredients in water-based nail polish, after water and film formers, are film-forming aids, soap and colourants. They form the minor portion in the polish, and only account for 1-10%.
Suncoat Water-based nail polish is about as natural as you can get. There is about 70% water, 1-3% natural colorants (namely earth pigments), and there is no phthalate of any kind.
4. Is it possible to make 100% natural nail polish?
Yes. However, natural nail polish does not last on nails. It comes off VERY easily in water and has very little staying power.
5. Are there any patents on water-based nail polish?
Yes. There are many patents on water-based nail polish. Some of the patents are going back as far as 1980. It is fair to say that water-based nail polish technology is well patented.
Many of the patents are owned by well-established cosmetics companies.
6. SO, why has there been no quality water-based nail polish on the market until now?
The answer is simple: too difficult to formulate.
Water-based nail polish has been a long held dream for cosmetic scientists. Many cosmetic giants have made the attempt to develop water-based nail polish. It is however the technical difficulties that prevented many of the major cosmetics makers from being successful in this area.
Based on our experience and knowledge, the major technical challenges for formulating water-based nail polish is lack of adhesion (to human nails) and slow drying time.

7. Is Toluene and Formaldehyde-free chemical nail polish as good as water-based nail polish?
Not at all.
You can now find Toluene and Formaldehyde-free nail polishes in drug stores, department stores, mass merchandisers, etc. These nail polishes are BETTER than those which still have toluene and formaldehyde-releasing ingredients. However, they are still chemical solvent based nail polish.
Chemical solvents, namely acetates, are still the major ingredient in the polish: 60-70% . These nail polishes still give off chemical fumes, pollute the air, have an offensive odour, and are highly flammable and explosive. They still harm nails, making the nails yellow, brittle and weak.
